Loafer

The loafer is the shoe you step into. No laces, no buckles, no ceremony — just a slip-on cut low at the vamp and built to be worn hard. The penny loafer earned its name from the strap slot that held a coin; the tassel and the horsebit followed, each a little dressier than the last. Ours are made on a soft last with a full-grain upper and leather lining, so they break in over weeks and then stay comfortable for years. Wear them with tailored trousers, or bare-ankled with chinos in summer.
